For many college classes, the lecture moves quickly in a crowded room with hundreds of students. It can be a challenge just to keep up with the rush of facts and ideas, let alone write your notes down to learn from later.
Luckily, many teachers assign reading to do before class, letting you familiarize yourself with the material. Then instead of trying to absorb new concepts and write at the same time, your pen is free to make connections with the new things you’re learning.
